Dr. Yanyan Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at New Mexico State University (NMSU). She received his B.S. (2005) and M.S. (2008) degrees in Environmental Engineering from Beijing Normal University. She obtained her PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Missouri in 2012. Before joining NMSU in 2016, she had her postdoctoral training at University of Alberta in Canada. Her current research interests include pathogen detection and inactivation, biofilm and their resistance to disinfection processes, antibiotic resistance in urban and natural environments, integrated biochemical and physicochemical treatment systems for wastewater from oil and gas wastewater and resource recovery.
